MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That this committee calls for a feasability study to be urgently carried out to assess the best location strategically for a Garda Station in the RAPID areas of Tallaght, with a view to identifying a suitable site and pursuing the issue with the Department of Justice until a commitment is given to increase resources to the Tallaght area.

REPORT:

The matter of siting and locating Garda Stations is one for the Department of Justice/An Garda Siochana with regard to strategy, staff resources, crime statistics and other organisational and financial issues.

If the motion is passed the matter will be referred to those bodies for consideration.
