MOTION No: 4
MOTION: Councillor S. Laing
"That the Manager give a detailed report on his meeting with Orwell Park Residence Association regarding the anti-social behaviour in the tree clusters in Orwell Park open space and to state what action he is prepared to take in view of the serious misbehaviour"
REPORT:
A site meeting was held with representatives of the Orwell Park Residents Association on June 15, 2006 at which a number of matters relating to the Orwell open space were discussed. In respect of anti-social activities on the open space, a commitment was given to the residents to arrange for crown lifting to remove the lower branches of existing trees on the open space and for the removal of shrubbery undergrowth in order to reduce cover for the perpertrators of anti-social behaviour. This work is scheduled to be undertaken as part of the current Arboricultural Programme which will be ongoing until March 2007.
